Conditions We Treat with Dialysis

Dialysis at HRRMC supports patients at every stage of kidney disease, from early monitoring to full-time treatment:

  • Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD): Nephrologist Dr. David Kanar, M.D., sees patients before dialysis becomes necessary, managing the fluid and waste buildup caused by kidneys filtering blood less effectively over time.
  • End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD): Patients whose kidneys no longer filter blood on their own receive ongoing in-center hemodialysis or at-home peritoneal dialysis, overseen by Nephrologist Dr. Jesse Flaxenburg, M.D.
  • Acute Kidney Injury (AKI): Hospitalized patients facing a sudden drop in kidney function receive inpatient dialysis alongside their hospital care team.
